Job description

The main role of the Facilities Operative will be to support the Regional Facilities Manager with all day to day activities. The Operative will be overseeing all building related activities, preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well-functioning. The Operative will maintain efficiency and administration systems, looking to improve and develop where necessary, and support the compliance activity within each site.

• Liaise with third party supplier / contractors, monitoring performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), ensure any work carried out is in line with Health & Safety regulations
• Support the Facilities department in delivering a consistent and efficient service across the site including ensuring that all planned preventative maintenance schedules are up to date and that any remedial works(s) are undertaken quickly
• Act as first point of contact within the Facilities department to ensure phone calls are taken and queries are dealt with in a time effective manner
• Monitor and respond to job requests, including liaising proactively and reactively with other staff and supply chain partners
• Ensure that supplier and contractor vetting, Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), Permit to Work and Construction Design Management (CDM) processes are always used and are fit for purpose & works monitored for compliance
• Provide other administrative and operational/coordination support to the Regional Facilities Manager and to other staff within the site and in other departments as and when requested
• Maintain building in a good state of repair and ensure all aspects of infrastructure is properly maintained (inclusive of plumbing, drainage, electrical, HVAC systems, door systems to gutter cleanliness and symphonic systems) and all service elements are delivered
• Maintain soft filing systems, ensuring consistency and support management team where required
• Assist with compliance diary, alarm tests, landscaping, fire testing, pump tests, hosting 3rd parties visits
• Assist with Ad-hoc requests
• Must be willing to travel to other sites as and when necessary to support the facilities department

Applicant's profile

• Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements
• Basic knowledge of ground maintenance would be desirable, if not must be willing to be trained.
• Good level of competence in Math and English
• Previous experience working in similar roles within Facilities or similar is desirable
• Excellent written communication with the ability to prepare and proofread tender documents
• Strong numerical skills with the ability to read financial information and present financial reports
• Ability to work effectively both in collaboration with other teams and on own initiative
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize a high volume of incoming jobs
• Well-developed communicator both verbal and written
• Ability to use Microsoft Office and Excel
• Experience in dealing with customer requests and coping under pressure whilst maintaining focus is essential
• Driving License
