Job description
Key Responsibilities
Import:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the clients and promptly respond to all client inquiries
• Coordinates inbound movement of international and domestic freight shipments
• Maintains compliance with policies and procedures
• Sr. Coordinators may establish rates and services with local cartage companies for the delivery of
freight
• Sr. Coordinators often assist the supervisor in the training of junior staff and support a larger portfolio
of clients
• Jr. Coordinators start with a small client base or handle more volume of repetitive shipments
• Prepares accurate import documentation for de-consolidated ocean and/or air shipments
• Liaise with team members as necessary to address client needs and monitor client transaction
processing
Export:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the clients and promptly respond to all client inquiries
• Coordinates the outbound movement of international and transborder freight shipments
• Arranges the pick-up of customer freight through the coordination of internal and external trucking
services
• Sr. Coordinators often assist the supervisor in the training of junior staff and support a larger portfolio
of clients
• Jr. Coordinators start with a small client base or handle more volume of repetitive shipments
• Liaise with team members as necessary to address client needs and monitor client transaction
processing
Depending on selected candidate, the home office would be Mississauga ON, Richmond BC, or Montreal QC
Applicant's profile
Education, Qualifications and Certificates Required: CargoWise Certified Operator (CCO) mandatory
IATA, IMO or TDG Certification / Training preferred (differentiator)
GMP Knowledge
May possess post-secondary education
Preferred Experience
Minimum of 3 - 5 years of import/export operations experience in multiple modes of transport and/or
customs brokerage
Technical / Functional Skills
• Knowledge of concept of Outlook shared mailboxes
• CargoWise Knowledge, file creation etc.
• Expert Microsoft Office Software - Outlook, Excel, Word
• Accurate and timely data entry
• Solid computer skills including dispatch and transportation management software.
Additional languages an asset.
